Massive Internet Outage Linked to Google Cloud Disruption
A widespread internet outage on Thursday disrupted several popular apps and services, including Cloudflare, Spotify, Discord, and Snapchat. The issue was traced back to a Google Cloud outage that began around 11:46 a.m. PT, according to the company, which is still working to restore full functionality.

Cloudflare confirmed that some of its services relying on Google Cloud were affected but emphasized that its core infrastructure remained stable. Services started gradually recovering by early afternoon.
Thousands of users also reported problems with AI platforms like Replit and Character.AI, as well as developer tools such as Cursor.
While Spotify and other affected companies closely monitored Google Cloud’s updates, other major cloud providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure reported no issues on their networks.
Outages of this kind are typically resolved within a few hours. Thursday’s disruption, which hit during peak work hours in the U.S., is expected to be resolved soon.
